Comfy

Every time I see this chair I picture myself curled up with a cup of tea and a good movie. Really what I'd probably do in this chair is take a nap. Josef Frank Easy Chair available at Bonluxat.

Interactive Wallpaper

This wallpaper would be great in my office. Instead of cork boards I could pin up photos, and notes and such. It might be even better in a guest bathroom with a box of markers. (The washable kind in case my guests wrote something rude). The wallpaper is titled "Frames" and is from Taylor and Wood.

Silhouettes

Karl Johnson Silhouette
Kips Bay Design House 2005
Karl Johnson Silhouette
Bella Bean Store San Francisco
Me, Disneyland 1983

I find silhouettes at flea markets now and then and I bought a pair of them a few years back. They were mounted on a minty green paper and framed in little red wood frames. They always me happy to see them.
I read about artist Karl Johnson in Domino awhile back, bookmarked his site and forgot about it until yesterday when I saw my little red framed silhouettes again. Some of his work is very traditional but I really like his more contemporary pieces. He does custom work too and it is so reasonable. What a great gift these would be and "you know what" is right around the corner- www.cutarts.com

Like Moths To a Flame
The Cat Bird Seat
The Water Table

I fell in love the art of Robert Deyber the first time I saw his work in the window at Martin Lawrence
Gallery. The only trouble in buying one of his paintings would be to decide which one. I want more than one.

Ether

How do I count the ways I love this light. I want it hanging over an egg shaped soaking tub. They call this the "Ether" probably because you will need it after you see the price. Normally priced at 17,940.00
it is on sale for 10,764.00 at www.lumens.com
The Ether by Eurofase, is an interpretation of nature's dewdrops through hand-blown glass and a radiant chrome finish. Each shape defies gravity's laws by magically floating in space.

The Cellula

The Cellula chandelier is dramatic without being fussy or overbearing. Designed by Nunzia Carbone and Tiziano Vudafieri, the design refracts the light of nine bulbs through numerous shapes and sizes of full leaded, faceted crystal. The crystals can be arranged as desired, simply by shifting them from groove to groove along the aluminum rod. The design is anchored by a clear cord, flanked by two thin steel cables. Made in Germany.

More Ingo

One of many lighting creations and impressive pieces of design from Ingo Maurer, Birds Birds Birds brings a touch of romance and poetry to your living space. I saw this several years ago in a magazine and it still delights me each time I see it. I always thought it looked more like angel wings than birds. This stunning chandelier combines 24 bulbs adorned with goose feather wings, with tin plated metal parts. It is as much a piece of art as a source for light. Available with red or transparent wires.

Floored

When I saw these gorgeous white epoxy floors in last April's Domino magazine I fell in love and I knew right then that I would have to have these someday. They call to me to put on my tap shoes or maybe a thick pair of socks and slide across the floor. These are usually laid down in garages and industrial businesses but when you see them pictured in a kitchen it makes perfect sense.
This is what homedoctor.net has to say about epoxy floors
Benefits of Epoxy Floor Coverings

Epoxy floors are durable and are slip-, stain-, and dust-resistant. Epoxy floors reflect natural or artificial light and are easy to clean. They are also resistant to chemical spills. Provided surfaces are prepared correctly, epoxy floor coatings are extremely durable.

More Chair Love

Love these chairs. A version of the classic Panton S chair. They are in a matte finish and they say they can be used outdoors as well and can be stacked 4 chairs high. We think they look wonderful as shown with a vintage table. Nice. 225.00 each from Velocity

I fell in love with the Ghost Chair when I saw one a designer had placed in the shallow end of his reflecting pool.Very cool.
